Tasty Treats and Helping Out

With Thanksgiving fast approaching this week, the woman has been busy planning out our feast. Thanksgiving is the man’s favorite holiday, so the woman has taken it upon herself to make all his holiday favorites, so he will not be cheated out of any of his favorite foods.

Since the woman has been sick and the man is away at work all day long, the burden of cooking for this feast falls upon Mr. Penguin’s [very capable] shoulders. The woman mapped out all the dishes she needs made for each day this week and gathered together all the recipes for me.

The kitchen was a disaster, so first I had to do the dishes and wipe the counters.

Then began the long marathon cooking session. I’m an expert at time management and was able to accomplish more than what was on the woman’s list.

I was even able to make some tasty little treats. I sampled one, but didn’t dare eat anymore. I didn’t want to get caught. Besides, these are the treats that will be served with after dinner coffee on thurs.

almond shortbread cookies

more shortbreads and double chocolate truffles

I'm tired and I'm ready for a well-deserved break. I'll have to go to bed early, because tomorrow I'll be doing more of the same thing.
