Working on the Truck

I apologize to my fans for my delay in a new post. Things have been so hectic around here that we forgot yesterday was Penguin Awareness Day. I expect the man and woman to make it up to me this entire weekend; starting with breakfast in bed and continuing with a day of pampering and special treatment.

Last weekend, the man finally started working on my truck. He put in the next exhaust system successfully by himself (under my close supervision, of course). It was the first time he was able to use all his new tools; he was pretty pumped.

This week we had to put a new fuse into the vent system. The man had trouble with it because his hands were too big.

Good thing he had me there, my flippers were the perfect size.

don’t send a man to do a penguin’s job

It was great to be outside, working on the truck, doing manly things. I can't wait for our next project!

Decorating Cookies

While away for Christmas I had the chance to decorate sugar cookies. It was nice because all the cookies were already cut out, baked, and cooled. They only needed to be iced and decorated. I was happy to join in on the fun.

There were snowmen,

snowflakes,

gingerbread men,

and most importantly, penguins.

It was a lot of fun and they tasted yummy, too.

Strange Creature

Do not be alarmed, nothing is wrong with this kitty. No harm was done to her. This is just what she likes to do, play dead. I had to put up with this cat during my holiday vacation. I was very disturbed the first time I saw her like this, I thought for sure she was in the early stages of rigor mortis.

But no, she's just a weird cat who likes to sit in the most unbecoming poses.
Case in point:

Needless to say, I did not try to befriend this unusual creature.

I do not miss her at all.

Snow

Mr. Penguin is finally back home and settled in. I had a nice visit in the city of Brotherly Love. We didn't have a white Christmas, but we did get snowfall the day after. I was able to document the snowfall for my fans. The snow started at noon on Sunday. By 1pm we had a light dusting of snow covering the ground.

I checked again at 3 pm, and the grass was totally covered.

Then it really picked up and by 4:40 we had about 2-3 inches.

I went to the window about 7pm and we had about 4 inches, and the wind was really blowing and drifting. You can see the snow gathering on the right side of the window.

The next morning we woke up and had a total of about 6-8 inches, plus lots of snow drifts.

I was glad we didn't have to go anywhere that day. I just snuggled up inside and watched movies.

Thankfully, now that I'm back home in the south, there is no snow and the temperature is warmer.

I still have a couple Christmas posts to share, hopefully I will get the them soon. I think my new year's resolution will be to get my posts out on a more timely basis.

Happy New Year, friends!
