Captain America
I was really excited when I heard that Captain America would be making an appearance on the 4th of July. I saw his video online along with some pictures from last year and I’d always hoped I would have the opportunity to meet him. I waited all day and finally he arrived after the fireworks. I was nervous to meet him (he is, after all, a superhero) but he was so kind and personable.
He let me hold his shield, which was too heavy for a little penguin like me to lift alone. I needed a little assistance, which Captain America readily supplied.
He also taught me how to salute, which is difficult for me as my flippers are not very long.
We quickly became friends. I was really sad to learn that his appearances are rare. We had a great time just hanging out; meeting him was definitely the highlight of my trip. I guess I will have to wait until next year to see him again. Hopefully, I will meet some of his superhero friends in the near future.
