Mr.Penguin learns how to change oil
Recently, the man gave me a lesson about how to change car oil. First, we had to gather all the supplies we'd need: funnel, oil, oil filter, and a container for the old oil.
Next, we had to lift up the car; we got these fun Rhino ramps from the auto store.
Then, we put the oil container under the car, and drain out the old oil. This takes awhile.
When it came time to pour in the new oil, I needed a little help from the man; the oil jug was pretty heavy.
Now, it's time to wait (again) for the new oil to drain in.
Time to check the oil level.
Oil level perfect; a job well done for the penguin and the man.

A Bump in the Night
For those of you fans who regularly follow my twitter account you no doubt are wondering what kind of animal I came across the other night. Well, here's the story:
The man, the woman, and I were all tucked in watching another one of those pirate movies (side note: I think I would make an excellent pirate), when we heard a loud thump and scratching against the window. This made the woman jump out of her skin as she is not a fan of woodland creatures, ESPECIALLY if they are attempting to enter the house. The man ran outside to see what it was while I attempted to calm the woman down. Outside the man found this little guy and hollered for us to come take a look.
Seeing this guy appeared non-threatening I asked him for his name. He replied, “Rocky: The Flying Squirrel”. I told him “Nutsy” would be a more appropriate name since he attempted to sail through a window.
We chatted and he apologized for interrupting our movie and scaring the woman. After a bit, he said he had to move on because he is nocturnal, running around all night and sleeping during the day (crazy squirrel). Still, it was nice to make a new friend. I just hope in the future he is more careful by not attempting anymore nosedives into any windows.

Curse of the Mothman
A few weeks ago the man and I watched a documentary on netflix called Eyes of the Mothman. It was about strange happenings in Pt. Pleasant, WV, and the collapse of the Silver Bridge. I really enjoyed it and had interest in seeing this town and bridge. Lucky for me, recently we passed right by the town and over the rebuilt bridge.
I commented to the man and woman that I hoped the Mothman wouldn't curse us with the bridge falling while we drove over it. Big mistake.
Soon after passing over the bridge, we smelled something funny, and the service engine light came on in the truck. No joke. I was terrified the Mothman was out to get us.
The man got out to check under the hood. Thank goodness, the problem was only the air filter coming loose. He screwed it back in, and in about 15 minutes we were on our way again. Sorry you didn't get us this time Mr. Mothman, better luck another time. I did learn an important lesson--do not provoke nor taunt the mothman.

Easter 2011
Finally, we’re getting around to posting about my Easter; took the woman long enough to do so.
I had a great Easter.
I went on fun Easter egg hunt:
After finding all the eggs I posed for pictures. Little did I know someone else wanted in the shot:
I had to explain to her that this was a penguin only shot, and she moved away to sit and watch the photo shoot, being sure to stay out-of-frame, so we could get our shot.
After the egg hunt I made some new friends:
...picked up some chicks:
...and ate tons of candy:
I also was reunited with my special lady. Overall, I had a great Easter.

Note: special thanks to my lady friend, who took all the non-egg hunt photos

Happy Derby Day!
This post is short because I'm posting it and it's hard to type with flippers. I'm all ready for the Kentucky Derby. I'm getting started early with my mint julep. My pick to win is Twice the Appeal. I think, if my pick wins, my prize should be an ipad2.

P.O.P (Pissed Off Penguin)
Look at this picture, it's from Easter which almost 2 weeks ago. Wouldn't you like to know how I spent my Easter, hear about my reunion with my lady, all the candy I got? I know my fans are begging, pleading, yearning for a new post from me. It's just I can't get the woman to help me out. She has more "important" things to do. Please, what could be more important than getting my blog posts up in a timely manner? I really need a new assistant.
But never fear, my friends and fans, I'm going to keep on the woman until she finally gets my post up.
Until then, please accept my deepest apologies for the delay of my Easter post. I will make it worth the wait.
